We’re global investment managers working with your financial advisor to control risk.

Forstrong Global Asset Management was founded in 2001 with the express purpose of providing institutional quality global strategies. Since our inception we have demonstrated our ability to manage clients’ assets through challenging markets and economic environments. Our distinguished asset management team has the longest track record in the world for managing ETF focused portfolios for all types of investors and investment needs.

We ask the questions that nobody else is asking to see what nobody else is seeing.

Forstrong’s forward-looking investment process goes beyond the obvious to consider the second and third order effects of significant economic and geopolitical trends. Portfolios are then actively managed to deliver returns in accordance with each client’s unique risk profile. Experience has taught us that this approach is the tested, proven and reliable way to manage investments in a rapidly changing world. For more than two decades, Forstrong has striven to deliver safer, more predictable returns for advisors and their clients.

New global realities mean that a problem somewhere is now a problem everywhere.

We live in an increasingly globalized and interconnected world that continually challenges investment managers to find new opportunities for diversifying portfolios. Compounding this is the fact that the pace of change is also rapidly accelerating, making it more important and difficult than ever to manage risk. Our team of investment professionals has over 200 years of combined global investing experience that allows us to stay in front of investment trends.

This is a collection of frequently asked questions, made available for your convenience. If you have any further questions or would like to contact a member of Forstrong Globals’ team, click the following button to be re-directed.

There are many global managers – what is distinct about Forstrong’s approach?

Although many global strategies are geographically diverse, Forstrong’s active macro thematic approach is additionally informed by the second and third order effects of significant economic and geopolitical events and trends.

Why should I use Forstrong?

By focusing on investment themes and sectors rather than individual companies and stocks, we endeavor to deliver global exposures that minimize idiosyncratic risk. Often, this allows Forstrong to avoid the big mistakes.

How many different types of portfolio strategies does Forstrong offer?

Forstrong offers 3 core global strategies that allow financial professionals to build robust, globally diversified portfolios for their clients. See strategies or click here for more details.

How can I access Forstrong strategies?

Forstrong Strategies are available at RBC DS, Raymond James, Richardson Wealth Management, IA Wealth Management, and Harness Investment Management. Forstrong manages institutional assets for private pensions, endowments and foundations.

Why do all Forstong strategies hold global content?

Data shows that each country’s investors suffer from a home bias to some extent. This often introduces unnecessary risks and the prospect of lower returns. Forstrong was founded with the express purpose of delivering global macro strategies that complement traditional bottom-up.

What is Forstrong’s policy on currency hedging?

The global FX market is the largest most liquid market in the world, and just like many other investments, it can experience periods of under and overvaluation. Although many global managers are currency inert; choosing to hedge or unhedge local market currency exposure, active currency management is an important risk mitigation tool for Forstrong. This is especially important when managing global fixed-income exposures where currency fluctuations can have an outsized effect on returns.

Why does Forstrong use ETFs exclusively instead of direct stock and bond securities?

Forstrong’s investment approach is predicated on creating and curating investment themes that reflect our unique macro perspectives. ETFs provide targeted exposure to unique asset types (without single corporate or security risk) from around the world. This allows Forstrong the opportunity to rapidly change the complexion of strategies based on new information.

How often are Forstrong strategies rebalanced?

Forstrong completely rebalances it’s investment thesis at least once a quarter. On a monthly basis, we rebalance positions if they fall out of our tolerance zone. Occasionally, if market moves are excessive, Forstrong may rebalance as an extension of active policy.
