Why do all Forstong strategies hold global content?

Data shows that each country’s investors suffer from a home bias to some extent. This often introduces unnecessary risks and the prospect of lower returns. Forstrong was founded with the express purpose of delivering global macro strategies that complement traditional bottom-up.

 

What is Forstrong’s policy on currency hedging?

The global FX market is the largest most liquid market in the world, and just like many other investments, it can experience periods of under and overvaluation. Although many global managers are currency inert; choosing to hedge or unhedge local market currency exposure, active currency management is an important risk mitigation tool for Forstrong. This is especially important when managing global fixed-income exposures where currency fluctuations can have an outsized effect on returns.

Why does Forstrong use ETFs exclusively instead of direct stock and bond securities?

Forstrong’s investment approach is predicated on creating and curating investment themes that reflect our unique macro perspectives. ETFs provide targeted exposure to unique asset types (without single corporate or security risk) from around the world and allow Forstrong the opportunity to rapidly change the complexion of strategies based on new information.

 

How often are Forstrong strategies rebalanced?

Forstrong completely rebalances accounts at least once a quarter. On a monthly basis, we rebalance positions if they fall out of our tolerance zone. Occasionally, if market moves are excessive, Forstrong may rebalance as an extension of active policy.
